Starting tomorrow Drake’s annual OVO Festival returns for the seventh time. The Dancehall king Beenie Man was scheduled to perform at the event, but had to change plans after visa issues and contracting the dreaded Zika virus.

No visa fi mi Canada show (I apologize again to my fans in case you haven’t seen the press release) Zika Virus hol’ mi. The same Zika mosquito gi mi dengue. Blood test, injections, pills,” he wrote.

Although facing some bad news, the Jamaican artist remains in good spirits. “Wi a hol firm still. Selassie a guide I n I right through so once mi have life me a give thanks. #Unstoppable,” he added.

Despite the diagnosis, the Caribbean artist is very optimistic. “Wi a hol firm still. Selassie a guide I n I right through so once mi have life me a give thanks. #Unstoppable,” he added.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the disease is mostly spread by infected mosquitoes. The symptoms of the virus include fever, rash, joint pain and eye redness. There is currently no vaccine or medication specifically for Zika.

Beanie was set to perform last night (July 30) at OVO fest alongside, Trinidad’s Machel Montano. In his absence, Montano was still able to put on a big show bringing out Kranium, Sean Paul and We The Best artist, Mavado.
