Over the summer, 50 Cent had teased fans with news that he might release a new mixtape that would precedes his much delayed 5th major album Street King Immortal. In September he confirmed that he would definitely be releasing a new mixtape.
Today he has revealed the title of the upcoming project, taking to his Instagram as he usually does, Fif posted a photo of stacks of money laid out to spell the word “BROKE.” He captioned the braggadocios shot, “Man this lunch money,I gotta go to work I’m still up, no Sleep at all. NEW MUSIC this week, Off The KANAN tape.”
There you have it, the mixtape is dubbed Kanan, if you’re unfamiliar with the name, it’s the character 50 plays on his hit TV series “Power” on the Starz Network.
I like the title, it’s clever and it kill two birds with one stone by continuing to promote the hit show while creating anticipation for not only a mixtape but an album as well.
