Adele’s New Album Goes Double Platinum in a Single Weekend

Adele is out here doing boy band numbers from the late 90s and early 2000s

Adele is out here doing boy band numbers from the late 90s and early 2000s,  it’s only been 4 days since Adele released her highly anticipated 25 album and it breaks all the myths that we’ve come to believe. Like needing to release new music year in, year out to stay relevant, fans forgetting about you when you take a break…etc.

It’s clearly the most anticipated album of the past few years, or even the past five years.  Her album is doing numbers we haven’t seen since NSYNC. 5 has already sold 2.3 million units in the first three days, according to Nielsen Music, and projections are showing she might hit 2.9 million by the time the Soundscan week ends on Thursday.

If she breaks the sales history, she will have the highest selling album in the first week ever, surpassing *NSYNC* No Strings Attached, which sold 2.4 million it’s first week.

we’ll follow up this post at the end of the week when the final numbers are in.
