Taxstone Arrested In Connection To Troy Ave Shooting

Hip-hop social media personality and podcaster Taxstone of Taxseason has reportedly been arrested this morning (1/16/2017) for his alleged role in the 2016 T.I. concert shooting at Irving Plaza that left one man dead and three victims injured, including Troy Ave himself. The Brooklyn rapper sustained a gunshot wound to the leg during the May 2016 ordeal while his bodyguard and friend Ronald McPhatter was shot and killed.

Taxtone, who’s real name Daryl Campbell, was reportedly cuffed and arrested in Brooklyn by U.S. Marshals New York and New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and NYPD without incident, according to NBC. The popular podcaster had a federal warrant out for his arrest on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Police were also seeking Taxstone concerning the Irving Plaza concert shooting.

Last June, police said they were looking for a second shooter after ruling out Troy Ave. The 31-year-old rapper was originally believed to be charged with first-degree murder of McPhatter, but charges were never filed.

Soon after the shooting, McPhatter’s brother went on social media and named Taxstone as the alleged second shooter. According to him, Taxstone had a gun and was shooting at Ronald and Troy Ave before dropping the weapon.

Tax has long denied his involvement in the shooting, telling a radio program last July, “I don’t know nothing about that sh*t, the hip-hop personality said in July. “I don’t know what’s wrong with people. Shout out to the internet. The internet is crazy.”
