This one has been a long time coming, the moment Makonnen went on social media and vented his frustrations with Drake and OVO, it was clear that it was the beginning of the end. iLoveMakonnen was officially put on the map when Drake jumped on his single “Tuesday” and made it a smash hit.
Now that run is over, it was more apparent when fans noticed to his Drink More Water 6 album was released through Warner Bros without. without the OVO Sound imprint.
Up until this point, iLoveMakonnen’s biggest moment is “Tuesday,” it should be interesting to see where he goes are parting ways with OVO.
Below is his official statement.
“I cannot thank OVO, 40, Oliver, Future & Mr. Morgan, enough for all that they have done for my career. No words can express how much I appreciate Drake for being a part of the success of Tuesday. I’m sure the haters will have something negative to say, but all in all my choice to be solely on Warner Bros Records was the right thing for me and for my best interest. Sorry there’s no beef to report, DRINK MORE WATER.”
