Legitimize Your Smart Phone With The Olympus Air A01

There’s always a new app, device or add-on that aims to bring the smart phone camera into legit photography territory, not sure why though. I mean smart phone cameras are pretty powerful these days, just take a look at IPPA, that’s all iPhone shots.

I think what we’re really trying to improve is the person taking the photo. Nonetheless that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement and innovation when it comes to taking photos on mobile devices. The Olympus Air A01 wants to be that improvement and innovation, because as any photographer will tell you it’s not about the camera it’s all about the lens.

The Olympus Air A01 comes rocking a 16-megapixel image sensor, a super fast (1/16000) shutter speed, and 3x digital zoom. This unique creation allows photographers to adjust the framing, brightness, exposure, saturation, video quality, and much more, while letting you use your smartphones to behave like mid-to-high-end cameras.

Seeing as this is geared towards the mobile user, Olympus was proactive in their development of this product, they also created an app that allows photographers to adjust the framing, brightness, exposure, saturation, video quality, and much more….Smart!

As far as the design of the lens with the way it looks with the phone appended, I don’t think I’m sold on it yet, I guess I need to see and hold it in my hands. This is one of those things that will either end up looking really cool or extremely corny.

All in all though, the results of getting the Air A01 is that your photos will be improved, but just because you can take high quality photos, doesn’t mean you’re good at taking photos.

Gems….I know.

The Olympus Air A01 will be available on March 6.

More on this later.
