YG Talks Getting Shot & Announces New Album “Still Krazy”

A few weeks ago the internet was shocked to hear the news that YG had been shot 3 times, any worry that followed was quickly extinguished as reports came in that he was OK and managed to get himself to the hospital.

Remaining absent from social media ever since the shooting, YG addressed it for the first time in an interview with Billboard. He revealed the reports were not accurate as he was not shot 3 times, but took only one bullet to his leg which created “3 bullet holes because it went in, went out and went back in again.” Of Unsurprisingly, he claimed he doesn’t know who shot him. The Compton native also shared he got into a car accident while on his way to the hospital.

Of course, this is Hip Hop and the no snitching rule is in full effect, so unsurprisingly, he claimed he doesn’t know who shot him. The Compton native also shared he got into a car accident while on his way to the hospital.

What was going through your mind when it happened? Survival. After I got shot, I’m telling everybody, “Take me to the hospital, because I can’t die.” We hop in my homie’s car and bam — we got in a car accident! We hit an island trying to avoid another car. We had to hop out of the totaled car, hop in another car. At the hospital we had to tell people, “Take me serious right now — you don’t even understand what’s going on.” It was wild.”

Only a day after the shooting, YG returned in the studio where he is busy working on the follow-up to his critically-acclaimed album My Krazy Life. Dubbed Still Krazy, his sophomore commercial project will feature a better rap version of himself, but is not expected to mark a topical shift. As far as the content is concerned, the project will include the track “Twist Your Finger” in which he speaks on getting shot, another song in which he raps about his broken heart and a third cut featuring an instrumental provided by DJ Mustard, who handled most of the production on My Krazy Life.
