How Young Thug Feels About Being Called Gay

Love him or hate him, Young Thug has made a name for himself in the last 2 years, he’s captured the attention of the public both as an artist and as a personality. He’s one of the hottest artist out and still has no major debut.

He just recently released his latest mixtape Slime Season and is already planning on following up with a sequel which will hopefully be out before 2015 is over.

Since he’s currently promoting the pending release of his Hy!£UN35 LP, Thugger sat down with The Guardian, following a recent show in the UK. He touched on his personal affairs, relationships with both Gucci Mane and Birdman – as well as questions about his sexuality.

Below are some excerpts from the interview.

Why he’s a very impulsive person.
“Whatever I think of, that’s what I do. I wake up and think, ‘I want to buy a car’, I buy a car. I wake up and be like, ‘I just want to lay in bed with my girl’, I do that. I wake up and want to rap, I rap. So whatever I think of. But really, I be on the money. We need money. We need hits. Hits bring money, money bring power, power bring fame, fame change the game. You know what I’m saying?”

On being called Gay.
“I like everything that people say. No matter what they say. You gay, you a punk. You got a nice girlfriend, you’re ugly, you can’t rap, you’re the hardest.” Is it important that hip-hop has looks other than the hyper-masculine stereotype?”

Admiring his lean and marijuana freedom overseas.
“This is one of the first tours I did where I wasn’t rushing to go home. Europe is a trillion times tighter than the US. These shows make me stop smoking. You can’t fucking play. You gotta stop, you can’t do drugs, I’ve been slacking drugs.”
